UEI (United Education Institue) Chula Vista Campus

UEI (United Education Institue) Chula Vista Campus

I would like to start by saying that the Chula Vista Campus of UEI is rather nice. However there are many more things that make this campus a very substandard and abhorrent place to attend. To begin with it has this relatively new Director of Education who apparently believes that the rest of the school, staff included, does not posses her educational intelligence. Her attitude and demeanor is becoming the prattle around the campus. The students are divided between night and day classes, yet the DOE (Director Of Education) has already made a name for herself among the students in both groups.

I have been in the school for several months now and can tell you that the hype that is said at the beginning is exactly that...HYPE. The admission personnel are not only unknowledgable in what the programs they are selling, they simply are trying to fill quotas, and does not provide true and accurate information about the school. There is often much information left out from their rhetoric and the propaganda they spew. This is due to a couple of things, the administrators are governing closely what is said and the information allotted to provide. The fact that the admissions personnel just are not trained to provide the information in the fields they are selling, apparently doesn't seem to matter either.

This campus also has a problem with firing its staff members anytime it is perceived that they are truly trying to help the students. I have seen the disappearance of several staff members since my time there. Admissions, Career, Teachers, and Admin, including the Director of Education. which brings me to a point. Great stability and trust factor there. This school seems more interested in the influx of money bodies(the student) then the actuality of what the student will end up with. I have met SEVERAL prior student from UEI and have heard the same story over and over again from medical students, message therapy, computer systems, and some of the other classes, "I can't believe I wasted my time, UEI did nothing for me for career services, I had to find my externship and employment on my own," I could go on but it just gets worse.

The school has been issuing outdated training material, has extremely outdated equipment, lack of adequate training equipment and training aids. When the students complain to their instructors, the administration wants to reprimand the students. The DOE has a very loose tongue and very arrogant attitude towards her position. She has staff and personnel working for her divulging confident information amongst student as well as very nasty and unprofessional attitudes. She has been overheard making rude and disparaging comments about students, instructors and making blanket statements regarding the student population such as "If they don't like it, I don't care, they can all leave." Does this sound like the temperament of someone concerned with the scholastic well being of her paying clientele? Is this the image UEI is putting out there? That we don't care about the students as long as they pay? She herself thinks that she is the SHERIFF on campus. It her way or the highway. I guess she does not truly understand that the students are her salary. Her distasteful and unprofessional queries of student and their whereabouts is becoming quite annoying and disruptive to the social camaraderie amongst the student and staff. She tries to enforce so called dress codes and other directives, yet she arrives late to school, and the staff of the school doesn't adhere to them either. She evidently does not understand her position in the school and the fact that this is not a state funded school but rather a school the students pay for which in turn makes the students the customers and her the customer service personnel. Which in layman's terms, means that she should be more polite, professional and concerned that the students are happy and getting the best education they can from this school, and not just worried about getting terminated.

The school would rather spend excessive monies on false advertisement, rather than spend the few hundreds of dollars it needs to to provide it's instructors with the training aids they need to do their jobs. The biggest problems on campus is projectors. There is only one and its very old. Our medical classes have a great need for them as well as our other programs. I met and individual the other day who told me that he is in the CST program and that they have a great instructor, but have a hard time because they don't have a projector also. These things are evidently inconsequential to the Administration of UEI. I myself will make it my mission to ensure any future student that even thinks about just freely wasting their money knows the truth about UEI and their extreme inefficacious way of providing what they offer. Sounds like a great class action lawsuit for breach of promise.
