Hi,

I have recently had some serious issues with B & Q. I ordered a kitchen not long after purchasing a flat. I was told delivery would be on the 26th of April. After using the services of a local and well established builders/decorators I paid the builders to be at my property after midday as stated by the phone call I recieved just prior to delivery.

3pm arrived and no Kitchen. So I promptly called the B&Q delivery line. I was told that it can take up to 8pm for delivery and was given a contact number of the local depot where the kitchen had been dispatched from. I called the depot and was told an attempted delivery was made at 9:45 that morning. I then called the B&Q delivery line back to inform them of this, they were completely oblivious to the attempted delivery and told me it will be delivered after midday and up to 8pm. I then promptly called the depot back!

Allas the depot informed me that the kitchen would NOT be re delivered that afternoon! I promptly called B&Q again! And once AGAIN! I was told the kitchen would be delivered between 12 - 8pm! I took the depots word for it and decided not to wait around for a delivery that wasnt going to turn up! BUT B&Q were more than happy for me to do so!

I then called the depot again at 5:30pm and a chap there told me he had put the kitchen out on a redelivery for the 27th (next day). Sure enough the kitchen arrived!

BUT....

There were bits missing! and not little screws either! The kitchen work tops were missing as was the housing for the built in fridge freezer. So again another days wages for my builders for fitting a tiny part of a kitchen!

On calling B&Q to complain they informed me that the work tops and housing were "probably" out on a bigger lorry! I promptly called the depot who informed me that everything that was delivered under my customer number had gone out; and to report the items as missing!

I AGAIN called B&Q and explain the problem! And this time they told me the parts had not left the main distribution centre! And that the next delivery attempt would be in a weeks time! I wouldnt mind so much but the sales girl who sold me the kitchen was more than happy to take my money there and then! But delivering the service?! Far from it!

I plan to write a letter of complaint including the invoices for the labour paid to the builders!

Are there any companies out there who care about there customers anymore??
