I purchased the above unit and an extended 5 year warranty on 12/20/03. April 16th 2007 was first time I have called for service. I was told that someone would get back to me in 24 hours. On the next day the service scheduler told me that my appointment with the serviceman would be on April 26th. The appointment could not be earlier because they were overbooked since the serviceman covered North and South Carolina and Virginia. I talked to 6 different Sears representative, some who were negative and rude. No one was concerned that for the contract price of $500.00 I would still be without the TV for more than a week.


In my experience most major appliance companies have a local contractor that can perform the service within 24 hours. Sears only response was that it was their procedure and I could darn well wait.
