Blockbuster - Charged for a movie that was returned

Blockbuster - Garfield Hts., OH

below is text of letter sent to Blockbuster CEO on April 19, 2007:

Mr. Antioco,

I will be quitting Blockbuster Total Access when my current subscription expires May 4, 2007.

Why am I quitting Blockbuster Total Access?

I’m quitting Blockbuster Total Access because I am being charged for a movie that I returned and I am not able to get the situation resolved, and most importantly, I am not getting replies to my complaints/concerns.

I have contacted the local store manager, I have submitted complaints via Blockbuster.com and I have sent a letter to Blockbuster’s corporate office, but the issue has yet to be resolved and I have gotten poor or no response at all.

See page #2 for background information and a recap of my attempts to get this situation resolved. See page #3 for a copy of charge on my Master Card for the movie that was returned

My current subscription expires May 4, 2007. I would prefer to remain a Total Access customer. I prefer the services offered by Blockbuster over Netflix. The opportunity to return movies to the local Blockbuster far exceeds what NetFlix can offer. However, I will not tolerate being charged for a movie that was returned and I will not tolerate less than adequate customer service.

I am requesting a refund for the inappropriate charge. Your immediate attention to this issue will be appreciated and will ensure that I continue to be a satisfied Blockbuster customer.

Respectfully,

Steven Kaminski

Background information: I have been a satisfied Total Access customer since March 2006 after switching from Netflix. On January 27, 2007, I returned a Total Access movie to my local Blockbuster store and borrowed “The Illusionist”. I returned The Illusionist” on Thursday, February 1, 2007 at 7:30 a.m. On February 8, 2007, my Master Card was charged $23.64 for the non-return of “The Illusionist”.
