Volvo Warranty Work

Volvo Warranty Work Farrell Motors, Inc. DBA Farrell Volvo 251 Turnpike Rd Southborough, MA 01772-1706 (508) 571-2400 I came in to Farrell Motors to have two light bulbs replaced on my mom's Volvo. When I came to pick it up, the gentleman had said that there are a few minor thing that I need to have done to the car, which are covered under warranty. I made an appointment for an oil change and to have any work that was covered under warranty done at the same time. I dropped off the car on 9/13/06 in the morning. When I picked the car up after work, I was given the invoice that said I owed 51.29 for the oil change and everything else was covered under warranty (invoice attached). Subsequently, I received a phone call from a gentleman named John who left a message on my home phone to call Farrell Volvo back and left his first name and telephone number. I called the next day and was told that John was out to lunch, I left a message asking him to call me back, as I did not know what the call was pertaining to. He never called back so I had assumed that it was a courtesy customer survey call. On 12/2/06 my neighbor had brought over a letter from small claims court, as it was addressed and delivered to 43 Lincoln Street, instead of 44. I called Volvo that weekend, but was told that there was nothing anyone could do for me then and to call the office manager back on Monday, I asked to go into her voicemail to leave her a message and explained that I did not even know I owed anything or why I was being summoned to small claims court and being sued by Farrell Volvo? I called the office manager Monday late morning, as she did not yet return my call and I needed to resolve this serious matter. When I called Jessica, I asked her if I could explain my situation and she said "no, I just need payment" I said that I never received any invoices or telephone calls. She said she sent them to my house and I said they had 43 instead of 44 on the court papers, without checking her records she said it was the only thing sent to 43. Please note that never did I once say I would not pay an invoice, however, I had never even seen a bill or been aware of anything outstanding or why there even would be? What had happen was that my mom's car was not under warranty, which I did not know, as I do not know how to even begin checking the validity of a warranty, that's what I thought the dealership was there for? My mom's car was at Farrell Motors for over 8 hours, I would imagine that any reputable dealership would make a quick call to see what is covered under warranty before initiating any work, therefore, covering themselves and taking care of their customers and clients. The only reason I had agreed to have the work done was because I was told my Farrell Motors that it was covered under warranty. Now, because someone did not do their job, I was being held accountable. I wrote a letter to Mr. James Farrell (President) and explained my situation. Saying that I would even take responsibility into my own hands, as no one at Farrell Motors would and saying I would pay the invoice. I received a call from Mr. Farrell saying that Farrell Motors had sent me plenty of letters and called. I told him they called once, never left a message and I called back leaving a message, stating that I did not know what it was in regards to. Unfortunately, I could see I was getting no where with him, so I just asked him to send me an invoice. I received an invoice, with things crossed out and someone writing the total on it. I sent the check the next day. About a week or so ago I received the check back, no letter or note, just the invoice again, with $30 added for court fee processing. Now first of all, I do not even think I should have to pay the original invoice but I will most certainly not pay the $30 court fees, as I never initiated court processing's. This check came back last week. This week, there was an unauthorized charge on my credit card from Farrell Motors.
