USPS is so unreliable

For the second time in a month I ordered something from Amazon.com and it will be arriving late.

On April 21, 2007 I ordered a Uniden handheld scanner. It was sent USPS. Amazon.com gave me a tracking number. The package started out in Jersey City, N.J., which is about 2/12 hours from where I live.

Suddenly, my package took a detour. It went suddenly East instead of North. It was headed for the end of Long Island, N.Y. I called Amazon and asked them why my package was headed in the wrong direction? They called USPS, and the excuses started.

I emailed USPS, and of course my question was conveniently avoided. I then noticed that the tracking information on the USPS website said that my package was "missent". No further infomation was available at that time.

The I found my package actully took another detour. It headed north, but went too far north and is on the wrong side of the Hudson river. Now the USPS has stopped giving any tracking information on their website and removed the last location given. All it says now, is that the package was "missent".

When I call, all I get is excuses and that I will receive my package, but they REFUSE to give me a date.

I told Amazon that by the time the scanner gets her, I will no longer want it. I was told I could refuse delivery. The problem with that is, I would have to stay home all day, every day and wait until the package arrives and of course, I don't have any idea when that will be????

The USPS becomes more and more unreliable and there seems to be NO WAY to get anything corrected.

So, I don't intend to order anything that is going to be delivered by USPS.
