Northern Leasing systems

Beware of this company. They are crooks. The scam goes like this: A slick talking salesman cons you into leasing an inferior credit card terminal (later seen on eBay for less than $100.00) for an extraordinary large sum ($44.00 per month) and subsequently trick you into signing a 48 month lease. I was left with one piece of paper and the salesman left with the 3 pages of small print containing the corrupt contract language. When the Credit Card Terminal quit working, I called the company to remedy the situation and all I got was a rude, cocky wannabe lawyer type (who was happy to fax over the missing three pages of the contract) that told me I was SOL and was stuck in a 4 year lease. I tried to settle with them, mailed them the credit card terminal back, and sent them a final payment of $500.00 to settle the matter. They refused to negotiate sensibly and got greedy. Then they sued me in the Civil Court of the City of New York (where they knew I couldn't personally appear) and won a default judgment. If anyone would like to join me in a Class Action Lawsuit, I'd like to hear from you or your attorney.

Did northern leasing ever serve you in your stae. I have basically the same problem, but they never served me in my stae and from what I understand that is a violation. The judge in the city court of new york never saw any of this and the default judgement was just sent by the cleck. Did you ever get this solved, if you did could you tell me how you did it without going to new york. I understand someone in las vegas with the same situation just sent a letter to the court and got the lawsuit dismissed, I have been trying to find him, but all I can find is his partial name Brad D. If you have anything that can help it would be appreciated. Thanks

Northern Leasing Woes

I was also duped by this company in connection with another fraudulent scheme perpetrated by john T. Polk's 2xtreme Performance International/USassurance/Akahi.com companies.

Here it is 10 years later and I just got a letter from NLS alleging that I owe them over $5,000 with an offer for a 50% settlement. Like others here, I paid on that lease for over a year and a half for equipment, software and services never delivered, that is, until the fraud charges were brought forward and the whole scheme cam crashing down.

Polk and at least on of his accomplices went to Federal prison. I can hardly believe that NLS has the audacity to try and collect on their bogus contract.

I am glad to participate in the class action suit here in California.

My now ex and I started a business in Dec. 2003. A rep. with Northern Lease came in and had me sign a 4 year lease with them which I did. In December 2007 the business was sold. The credit card machine was turned into the rep. Northern Lease instructed in March 2008. From March 2008 until April 2009 they continued to drain the business checking account (I didn't know it because the ex had all the paperwork...left me out in the cold). Not only did Northern Lease continue to draft the account to the tune of $1,000, but when the money ran out, they started coming after me. Now their nit wit of collections dept. is telling me that the machine wasn't turned into the "correct" person and that I still have to pay for it! I have filed a complaint with the NC Attorney General's office as well as the New York Attorney General and the FTC. I'll be darned if they're getting anything else from me. I'm also going after them for drafting my account without permission!

Please help me , they have been after me for 7 years. I just now got a questions and answer sheet 150 questions for attorney Joseph Sussman. Last question he wants a copy of my last will and testament , how far can they go . I have 14 days to reply or they will fine me and/or imprisonment. I also feel that they are crooks and would like to see them out of business. The same thing happened with us, except we stayed in our 4 year contract. After it ended we called to cancell and was told they would send a call tag. Never happened, so I called back, they said they don't send tags and until I send it back myself I would continue to be charged 57.90 a month. Sent it in the same day, but somehow they didn't conviently recieve it until a month later, 4 days after another charge and late enough to say they can still charge me another month! I know they're lieing. And I was threatened on the phone, by the customer service lady and when I made a complaint they basically said they don't care what their customer service people say! Wow what a company!!!!

I have a very similar situation and Northern Leasing is now threatening me with a law suit. We are not alone. There are numerous complaints about this company on different websites with pretty much the same story. The Missouri Attorney General took legal action against Northern Leasing. I am filing a complaint with my Attorney Generals office also.

Let's hope enough of us can come together and fight this.

Northern leasing or someone forged my signature to a contract that I have been paying on for 5 years as I assumed the charges were for another company. I am receiving the same cocky "lawyer wanna be" when dealing with them. They are also holding me to returning a machine that I never go from them. I have paid them $3,360.00 over the past 5 years. We returned exactly what they sent to us.
