Complaint about Dish Network I have been a Dish Network customers since 2004. On Feb. 14, 2007, I called Dish about a promotion in which they offered a price of $39.99 per month for 10 months, which was less than what I was paying. I asked if I could get this deal and the gentleman I spoke to said yes. I confirmed twice with him that I would get 10 months for $39.99 a month, and he assured me that that was correct.
In April, I noticed I was not getting the discount. When I emailed Dish on April 9 to ask why, no one responded. ("One of our friendly agents will respond to your e-mail quickly," says their website.)
I spoke to a representative named "Mary" on April 10 and she told me that the $39.99 deal was only available to new customers. Since I had now been told opposite things by two representatives, I asked her email me the substance of her response so I could have something in writing. She said she would, but she never did.
I followed up with another email and this time actually got a response. Not a very good one though. "Peggy Z" said that they had "researched my account" and found that the representative on Feb. 14 had told me that the deal was only available to new customers. This was simply incorrect.
