Comcast Cooperates with Law Enforcement

Comcast Cooperates with Law Enforcement The big brother scenario where everything you do is scrutinized by law enforcement is here upon us and Comcast is leading the charge.
Comcast refuses to refresh it’s customers ip addresses (DHCP) to make it very easy for the cops to identify what activity is originating from your computer.
It used to be that Americans were innocent until proven guilty and that law enforcement was not allowed to serendipitously eavesdrop on private citizens.
If Leo an acronym for Law Enforcement Official the cop suspected unlawful activity he would have to make his case in front a magistrate and convince the magistrate thru compelling physical evidence that warrants were appropriate.
Only then would the magistrate consider issuing the appropriate warrants to allow the surveillance to begin.
Apparently things in Canada which is actually Comcast’s home base are very different and this type of unlawful surveillance is allowed.
Comcast service is not cheap so this company should demonstrate loyalty to its American customers and do what ever it takes to defend their rights.
For those of you that don’t understand what the fuss is about read on.
Every computer has a unique Mac address. This Mac address is associated with a specific customer thru the IP address and the company providing service.
So by simply looking at a list of ip address any LEO would know what activity any computer was engaged in.
By refusing to refresh the ip addresses, sometimes for as long as eight months Comcast makes it incredibly easy for even the thickest headed LEO to monitor your activity.
Dynamic ip allocation is necessary to make it difficult for criminals to identify your computer.
Naturally the longer you sit on the same ip address the greater the likelihood that some criminal will successful identify your computer and launch an attack.
