Retail / Collections Security Checks LLC Southaven, Mississippi 38671-0016
I made a check out to a retail business, and it bounced, unfortunately. I was contacted by the company telling me that they were going to send the situation to their collection agency. I get a call a few days later regarding the check that bounced. Their first amount was 54 and some change. This was to handle a return check fee, the amount of the check, and whatever other fee. They ran the check, and called back within a few days to state that I didn't have such an account with the bank I have an account with. I was surprised. I knew my bank account was still in play, I've written other (good) checks since then! I told them I have no idea why they're not showing I have an account, so we hang up. Again, a few days later, they call saying it'd be a 73 dollar and some change charge because of another bounced check fee because the account that is on the check isn't a real account. I told the woman on the phone, "No. I do not feel I should pay 74 dollars for something that should have gone through." We hung up again. Now, a week passes by, and they call again. Wanting not 73...but 125 dollars. I threw a fit. I refused to pay that much. They called again for a last time, telling me it was going to be a flat 40 dollars. I said, "Shred my check. I want your address, I'll send a money order." They gave me their address, and we hang up. I checked my account the day after that phone conversation, and I have THREE check charges against my account. 2 for 73.95 (PLUS two 35 dollar NSF fees) and another for 40 dollars (and another 35 dollar NSF fee). I'm under in the bank account, my bank can't do anything... I highly advise to NOT give this company your bank account number or debit/credit card number! They are definately out for the worst! I had to "research" to find their phone number, and found someone else on complaints.com who had a VERY similar problem. So, I highly advise...HIGHLY advise to not give this company your information. Now I'm in the hole 100 dollars because of a 20 dollar check. Nicole T.
