Columbia House DVD Club SCAM

Columbia House DVD Club SCAM We have never been a member of Columbia House DVD Club. When I can rent a movie for a couple of bucks at the local video store, I'm sure not paying for it. In January of this year, we received a bill for $69 from a collection agency stating we owed this amount to Columbia House DVD Club. This was a minor issue and we requested documentation from them. We have heard nothing more. Recently, we started looking for a new car. When the dealership pulled our credit report, guess what showed up? Columbia House reported us as over 90 late in paying. What makes this even stranger is that, according to the credit report, we opened our account in January 2007 and their latest report was sent in February. How that makes 90 day I don't know. Repeated attempts to reach Columbia House have been fruitless since we have no Account # to enter and there is no way to actually speak to a person without one. What do I do? My wife, who is less skeptical of companies than I am, has been grilling everyone we know trying to find out who joined in her name. These guys are pigs. If they were a legitimate company, it would be far easier to speak to someone to resolve a problem. I see way too many complaints about their tactics to believe that any of this is accidental. PLEASE HELP US!! How do we get to a real person to handle this??
