Yahoo Wins!

Yahoo Wins!

Dear Yahoo,

I give up. You win. You have far more auto generated emails than I can create inquiries. (Seven and counting!) Every time I have asked a question you send me a very quick reply, but unfortunately, it doesn’t answer my question or even come close to helping. You have effectively and demonstratively dehumanized customer service.

If a customer has an issue, send them a pre-packaged reply. It doesn’t have to be on point, doesn’t have to be relevant, and doesn’t even have to be correct. Just keep responding to the inquiries with irrelevant emails.

Can you get around the reply emails by contacting a person? No, that is not allowed.

Can you talk to someone in billing? No, since the account in question was cancelled, you are basically out of luck.

Two months ago, I upgraded my two year old yahoo account to a premium account because I wanted the extra storage space. Two months later, I tried to sign on and nothing, the account was deleted. I did receive a very nice auto generated emails saying that I “may” have broken my TOS agreement, but Yahoo wasn’t sure. In that two months, I haven’t added or sent any photos of naked people; didn't post any hateful bashings; didn’t threaten anyone; didn’t even speak unkindly about Yahoo. (I will admit I did that after you deleted the account).

I did ask if I could have a specific reason my account was deleted or if my money was to be refunded, but your answers were….well you know what they were, it was the same emails over and over again that really had nothing to do with my questions.

So, if I have all of this straight. I have a right to send you money. You have a right to cancel my service. I have a right to ask questions, but you have the right to ignore me. You (probably correctly) assume that for $19 I probably won’t take the time or expense to hire an attorney or even contact my credit card company, because, more than likely I will just get an auto-generated email from them too. And it starts all over again.

May I make one suggestion? Please take my $19 and the $19 from all the rest of the people you have canceled and hire at least one “real” customer service agent. It’s small step, but you have to start somewhere.

Duane

P.S. Please don't cancel this account, I paid for it too, three years ago.
