Scotts Ortho Weed Be Gone for Southern Lawns

This product is advertised by Scotts as being safe for St Augustine grass. Approximately seven days after applying this product to my lawn, which is St Augustine grass, the grass began to die. Within two weeks, any part of my lawn which had been treated with this product was completely dead including the root system itself. The product was applied within the guidelines as far as application rate and air temperature, as specified on the applicator. A check of the web indicates Scotts has been aware of this problem at least a far back as 2003 but continues to market this product as safe for St. Augustine grass.

I have been use scott product seeds + fertilizer + weed killer step 1 to 3 i started from spring and now end of august, i have so many burnt spots so many weeds germinating , so many empty spots my lawn worse then ever , i wrote the company of my wasted time , they want to return money , no it is not issue of money it is wasted afford and believing that home depot and buying this scammed products from scott i wont recommend anybody to buy any of scott product and also scott weed killer is not environmental to your grass it will kill everything in your lawn including birds.

Yep...Me Too!

My lawn (St. Augustine) is only 11 months old, the envy of the neighbour hood. Can't tell you how many strangers have stopped by and ask what kind of grass I laid.

Well I saw Scotts "Weed be Gone" (FOR SOUTHERN LAWNS...I Live in Florida) in Home Depot, and said YES, this will wipe out that pesky dollar weed...IT WIPED OUT MY ENTIRE FRONT YARD!!!

The yard now matches my roof tiles!

I'm getting three estimates & a lawyer! Especially after reading about all the other poor saps like myself that trusted their advertising!!

I, too, used this product and it not only did not kill the weeds, it killed the grass. This product used to work. It does not work now.

The SAME thing happened to us! At the beginning of Spring, we fertilized our yard and within two weeks, we had a beautiful lush lawn. There were a few minor weed problems, so we purchased Scotts product. Everywhere we sprayed the product, the grass has completely died.
