Walmart gift card

My brother had a problem with a Walmart gift card. For Christmas 2006 I gave him a $40.00 gift card. bought at the Queensbury, NY , Walmart.When he returned home on December 28, he went to the Walmart in New Hartford, NY, and got $21.74 in gasoline, leaving a balance of $18.26. Then he went inside the store , picked up a few things, and went to the cash register. The cashier ran the gift card through the machine and notified him that the balance was zero! Why did he get cheated out of the rest of the money still on that Walmart gift card? When I called Walmart Headquarters and wrote to them in Bentonville, Arkansas, no one could give me a straight answer. How many hundreds of other people have been cheated by Walmart in their gift card scam? This hassle with Walmart and trying to get them to do the right thing has been extremely aggravating. To date, they have not rectified this situation.Beware of Walmart gift cards!
