Cancellation of Air Ticket 1st April 2007 To: From: The Managing Direstor,, Sudhansu S Gangopadhyay Air Decan Tapi Darshan Building, Flat No. 103 Hyderabad/ Bangalore Opp: Omrigar School, Umra North, Surat: 395007, Gujrat E mail: Email User Mobile: 9824600583 Dear Sir, Sub: Cancellation of Air Ticket PNR NO. DA08636756 I had purchased the air ticket from your airline on 31st December 2006 vide ticket PNR no. DA08636756. for traveling from Mumbai to Kolkata on 30th April'07 for five members of my family including myself . The fare of Rs.17826/- was paid through my credit card. Subsequently on 16th March'07 I had cancelled the said ticket over phone through your Gujrat customer care center ( phone no. 9898377008). The phone was attended by your Ms. Sushan and she had confirmed the cancellation of the said ticket and had also provided the cancellation no. as 1446333. She had also confirmed that I would get a refund of Rs. 15502/- within four working days and the said amount would be credited in my relevant credit card through which the original booking was made. In anticipation of receiving the said credit at my credit card, the outstanding balance at my credit card account was not cleared by me. However. most unfortunately , no credit was passed by your institution in my account and as a result the credit card company had debited me Rs. 1343.88/- as interest / late charges etc. for non payment of the outstanding balance. On receipt of the said statement, I had once again contacted your customer care center at Ahmedabad on 30th March'07 at around 10.57 PM. To my total surprise your customer care officer Mr. Kartik had informed me that my ticket was not cancelled earlier by Ms. Sushan and hence no amount was refunded. Kindly note this is a utter callousness in the part of your concern staff and a total failure in your system which has created severe problem for myself. I fail to understand that even after recording the conversation with the customers about reservation / cancellation of tickets how come such a gross negligence can take place in providing customer service. Subsequently on 30th March itself, based on my advice your Mr. Kartik has confirmed that he had since cancelled the said ticket and had given me once again the same cancellation no.1446333 and informed me that the refund would be effected in my credit card account after 14 days(!). However, I do not have any e mail or other confirmation in this regard from your company till date. On my specific insistence to redress my grievances about providing the false information by your Ms. Sushan on 16th March last, Mr. Kartik had afterwards called his supervisor Mr. Madan. However, he also took no responsibility of the failure of your stafff Ms. Sushan for not canceling my ticket on 16th of March'07 and told me that the ticket has since been cancelled by Mr. Kartik on 30th March only and hence I would get the refund only after 14 days. Kindly note in view of the failure of your staff to provide me proper service, I am feeling cheated and have suffered monetary loss. Under the circumstances I request you to send the proceeds against the cancellation of my ticket without any further delay along with the penalty of Rs. 1343.88 as was charged by my credit card service provider. Your early action would be highly solicited. Thanking you, Yours faithfully Sudhansu S Gangopadhyay _________________________________________________________________ Catch the complete World Cup coverage with MSN http://content.msn.co.in/Sports/Cricket/Default.aspx From: Message Author (click here to email author)Date: Sunday, 01-Apr-07 04:01:54 CDT Business: Reply Online Consumer: Comment On This |
