MDG Computers WARNING WARNING WARNING~! DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM THIS COMPANY! Here is my story: I purchased a brand new overpriced laptop form MDG computers 10 monts ago at the Store in Downtown Toronto. Right from the beginning I was skeptical (There was a lady yelling in the store) but I needed the computer for work and they had it in stock. At first the laptop was crashing on a daily basis. After about 1 week of constant crashing, I decided to check the memory. I pull out the extra 512 sim in my notebook and all of a sudden it works like a charm. No problms... I call MDG and swap my memory at the store. Problem Solved. Was this computer configuration ever tested? Guess not. First Red Flag. After about 8 months I noticed the power adapter connnection at the back was getting pretty hot. I called MDG support and they told me I would have to drop it off for support. Within 2 weeks I had the machine at the store, I had only used it lightly to back up files and data before warranty repairs. The notebook basicly gets to the point where if you touch the plug you will burn yourself, and I now notice that the plug is actually almost on fire and is clearly burnt. August 4th - Dropped off laptop for service at MDG August 17th -Called Store regarding status - Store had no idea where my laptop was and someone was to call me back August 22nd -Phone Call returned 5 days later to tell me no warranty August 22nd -Called MDG and was told to write and escalation letter August 22nd Sent Escalation Email Regarding Laptop August 28th - Sent second email regarding the status of my computer August 28th Receive First phone call from MDG regarding my computer and escalation. He basically tells me the same thing I have been told at the store level regardless of my escalation. He tells me to call the store for the status and I refuse. I ask him to call the store and deal with it. I dropped my laptop off for service and I want it back fixed. (half way through this conversation he happens to mention this call is being recorded? Legal? We will see. I request a copy and I am denied as this is property of MDG.) August 28th - I called the store and was told to again call head office August 28th - I received an email from head office regarding my escalation telling me to contact the store August 28th - I phoned the store and told the manager would discuss this with today around 5pm - No phone call received Date – Filed complaint with the BBB. September 2, 2006 – Sent email to Email User regarding the status of my laptop. September 6, 2006 – Again contacted Email User regarding the status of my laptop. I have still received no phone call from the store. September 7th,2006 – Once again sent email to Email User regarding the status of my laptop. I have heard nothing from since I was promised a call back from the manager on the 28th. Here we are on the 7th. No phone calls, no response to emails. I am about to file a claim in small claims court for the loss of my laptop and/or warranty dispute. They claim this is physical damage? What a joke. In short I am a computer professional with over 10 years in this business. I have personally owned over 15 laptop computers and dealt with DELL, IBM, COMPAQ and others on BIG corporate purchases for enitre departments. i HAVE NEVER in my LIFE seen a company with so little respect for its customers and product. Award Winning Support? I think NOT! What a JOKE! From: Message Author (click here to email author)Date: Thursday, 07-Sep-06 07:44:05 CDT Business: Reply Online Consumer: Comment On This |
