What Customer Service?

After receiving some degree of success with the customer testimonials posted to the Kudzu.com public website we decided in March of 2006 to sign up for display advertising for our carpet cleaning business in their spring cleaning guide.

On March 24, 2006 someone posted a false and defamatory posting accusing our company of overcharging and over wetting their carpets. We have no idea who posted this.

On March 29, 2006 we contacted Kudzu to bring this to their attention. We were told that someone would get back to us and address the problem. After waiting several weeks and making several attempts to make contact with someone in the Kudzu customer service and months later with no response we finally contacted someone in upper management.

We were contacted by the director. Before we even begin to discuss the issue of the defamatory posting this executive wanted us to acknowledge that we had received statements for the display advertising. I was a little put off at her demeanor but I explained to her why the statements had not been paid. After what we thought would be an investigation and removal of the defamatory posting they decided they would leave it and stated that they didn’t feel as though it has caused any injury to our business.

We have made every attempt to show these people why it was defamatory and why it should be removed.

In this situation our requests to remove the bad review has fell on deaf ears or a corporation that is so large they could care less about the reputation of a small business.

We feel they have breached their contractual relationship with us by allowing continuous posting of this false and misleading statement and have continued to post this statement on a public website. Even after we cancelled the display advertising they continued to bill us and we continued to pay for an enhanced listing. I contacted the president of Cox Search LLC, Jim Kennedy and he did was pass it over to their attorney and he recommended that they terminate our account.

These people don’t care about one small account especially when they cannot create a revenues stream from them. They have since terminated our listing with the Kudzu website and has reduced our business by 70%.

They have sent us a very men spirited letter terminating all services.
