Dear Mr. Kumar,

We had received another shock and surprise letter from Airtel dated August 5, 2006. We are not really proud now to say that we are one of those elite customers of Airtel. I believe yours is a limited company which successfully adopts the business tactics and marketing gimmicks in to us and you currently entrust us to believe that once we get caught in to your business it's very difficult to get out of it which is not so.

Earlier you had restricted the infinite free outgoing calls to 600 minutes and have stated reasons which is totally unacceptable. Once you had offered a facility with certain concessions, it is up to the customer's wish to utilize it completely or restrict him/her self to usage of the same. But we did not raise any hard dispute on the same though there is no change in your competitor tariff till date. This is where we started losing faith on you and you started disclosing your true colours. But still we continue to be one of your prompt CUG customers.

But the letter dated August 5, 2006 really made us to think twice on continuing our relationship. I understand that you have restricted the free call limit only to Airtel network which is totally against your promises and commitments made at the time of availing the connection at Standard Chartered Bank. We have been instrumental in spreading your network in our bank and we have been really paid for it now. As we are also in to customer service we know the value of customers unlike you. I understand that you are one of the leading telecom providers in India and that doesn't mean that you can adopt a Monopoly policy on existing customers.

Our Honorable Union Minister on Information & Technology from Tamil Nadu clearly stated in one of his meeting that if any company hiding the charges or doing their own way of modifications against the promises made, those complaint will be strictly handled by the Government. I trust you are governed by the Government of India/TRAI and not by any other country. We have also arranged to send a copy of this notice to TRAI as well as to the Ministry of India.

So we all would like to get a positive reply on the above issues raised and restore the original plan which you had offered to us before we take a hasty decision.

standard chartered should be the last one to be complaining about cheating or poor service - as a brand they don't deserve much worse - life comes full circle.
