oap complaint My Mom is 83 years old, and has never been in debt with anyone in her life, until she joined a telephone company called Talk Talk. They told her she owed 18 pounds on her bill and she knew she didn't because she pays it with Secure Homes, who she contacted and they confirmed they had sent the cheque, they then cut her off for three days, this is an old lady, who is blind in one eye, and needs to be in touch with us her family at night. She was frantic, Secure Homes told her not to worry they would sort it out for her. Which they did, until Mom received another bill, which we had to sort out again, she had by now changed phone company back to her old one and only then owed one pound something for any other existing calls, which they sent her a bill for and we paid by cheque. Yesterday she got another bill off talk talk for l8 pounds again, we told her to take no notice of it, but this morning she received a letter telling her she was being taken to court and the bailiffs would be sent to her house. You can imagine how my Mom must feel, her nerves are in a terrible state over this. She wanted to pay the money even though she doesnt owe it. My Sister phoned the bailiff Company up for her and explained the situation they said if she sends proof of payment from the original l8 pounds they wouldnt take any further action, which she is going to do today.
How can we make these people realize the upset they have caused my Mom, and also to stop them sending her any more letters, what can we do to protect her from this Company.
Hoping you can help
