Certegy Check Services

Certegy Check Services

Sept. 2, 2006, I stopped at the drive-through window of Walgreen's Store #06371 in Fayetteville, GA, to pick up a prescription for my husband. We have been using this store for several years but today I was informed that Certegy had refused my check. I was furious!!! We have never had a check refused. Never bounced a check. Had thousands of dollars in this account. Had this checking account for 25 years. His name, address, phone number, date of birth were on file at Walgreen's because of all of the prescriptions that have been filled for him there. The checking account was joint with my husband and myself, contained the same address and phone number as the drug store, and was for $50.00. I had a hard time comprehending what the employee in the pharmacy was trying to tell me about our check being denied. Want to hear the kickers? I used my debit card to pay for the prescription. Yeah...debit card. What was debited? My CHECKING ACCOUNT!!! After signing the receipt and returning it to the drive-through drawer, I removed the bag containing my husband's prescription. The signed debit receipt was caught by a breeze as the drawer was being drawn back into the store. I could have driven away, but I told the Walgreen's employee to wait a minute. I pulled my car forward, retrieved the receipt, backed my car up and placed the receipt in the tray. Oh, yeah. That sounds like a thief, doesn't it? Well, I called Certegy and some sort of info is being mailed to me. In the meantime I will be checking out OUR options concerning Certegy. This was wrong, wrong, wrong.....And Walgreen's just lost a couple of customers because of Certegy.
