Toshiba A75-S229 Complaint

Toshiba A75-S229 Complaint I purchased a Toshiba A75-S229 from Best Buy, and then purchased the three-year additional warranty with SystemGuard from Toshiba. This computer worked well for about six to nine months, and then it began simply turning off during normal operation. The fans on the machine would continuously run, and the only way the computer would stay on is to turn the monitor brightness down all the way along with the processor speed. Recently, the computer began shutting off no matter how the computer was configured.
The computer was sent in to Toshiba twice, and both times the company indicated the computer was fixed. In neither case was it actually fixedc, and now it acts as a paperweight on my desk. I called the Toshiba customer service line, and I was informed that they are unwilling to do anything to fix my problem, even though I have the warranty on the computer. The customer service people would not allow me to speak with anyone else, and eventually, they began yelling at me and then hung up. I do not know if Toshiba outsources their customer service or what, but for a company as big as Toshiba to act in this manner is unacceptable.
As of now, there is a class action lawsuit being brought against Toshiba on this computer model. I received an update from one of the law offices handling the case, and they are set to have another hearing on the matter shortly. Hopefully, Toshiba will be forced to refund or replace the computers and made to pay damages.
I will never purchase another Toshiba product, and I encourage others to find better products that are certainly available. Toshiba refuses to stand behind their products and will not respond to nor alleviate customer complaints. DO NOT BUY TOSHIBA!!
Hope this helps in your product buying decision. From: Message Author (click here to email author)Date: Friday, 29-Sep-06 20:39:13 CDT Business: Reply Online Consumer: Comment On This |
