carpet right Edinburgh Ordered and paid for a carpet for a single room 3.63 m by 4.05 metres with a 3 metre intrusion of 20cm. After a brief discussion and me handing over my credit card, the salesman told me that the standard widths were 4m and they could use some of the off cut from the intrusion to bond to the carpet to get the required 4.05m. He said we may also be lucky in that the roll may be cut bigger anyway.
two weeks later and the carpet turns up, 4m by 3.60m. On the supply form, it clearly stated a length of 3.6m and the salesman basically told me that I had got it wrong!
Anyway, new carpet ordered at 3.7m but another 2 weeks delay to get it sorted. Big smiles in the shop, fast to take my money but not so clever at admitting mistakes.
Did I get it wrong? Maybe, but my wife and I measured it separately and drew the exact layout for the guy to see.
Not best pleased.
