Newport News-Women's online clothing store Newport News is an women's online store. I made the mistake of ordering a few clothing items and to date (now going on 3 years) there has been no resolution. Here's my story: I purchased some items, paid by credit card, the money was taken out of my account, however I kept getting a bill stating I owed them money, in addition and in the meantime I returned two of the items, not only did they not refund my money for the return (done timely) they continued to send me letters saying I owed them money, and if I didn't pay, the "debt" would end up on my credit report. Long story short-I paid Newport News twice. I tried like heck to resolve the matter through a multitude of different "customer service representatives." I faxed my proof of payment, bank statements as well as letters detailing my experience and it fell on deaf ears. I even contacted my local news station to see if the consumer reporter could assist me, they referred me to the Better Business Bureau, I contacted them and was told I had to place my complaint with the BBB in Virginia since that was where the company was based, I did that and never heard from the BBB again. As I stated earlier, to date-the situation is still unresolved. R.
