SBC Yahoo! DSL Equipment Rebate, A Farce? Recently AT&T offered a low cost SBC Yahoo! DSL services plus equipment rebate of $49.99. Sound too good to pass it! Trouble is, it has been five months since my installation and I am still waiting for my rebate check to show up, even with numerous calls to rebate department to complain. Around February 2006, a sales woman from AT&T called me offering this DSL service. Although I informed her that my computer does not have enough memory for DSL, she guaranteed me their technical service department will be able to resolve the issue! Service was activated on 2/20/06 but it turned out she was wrong. My computer is not compatible with DSL due to insufficient memory! I returned the equipment and they credited my account since I had paid for it already. A couple of months later I bought a new PC and decided to order DSL service. It was activated on 4/26/2006 and AT&T billed me $49.99 for equipment in my phone bill which was paid. I filed the rebate and their web site showed it was accepted and check is being processed. Without receiving a rebate check for three months I called on 7/13/06 and the service rep informed me that they will expedite it. I called again on 8/23/06 and they assured me I will receive check in two weeks. Since there is no check arriving, I called again on 9/8/06 and the service rep informed me that their billing department told her that they had credited me already and thus would not issue a rebate check. I called the billing department and they said the credit was for the first activation not the second one! She helped me talking with the rebate department to clarify the issue. The rebate department told me they will expedite it again! I called again in 9/25/06 and they informed me there is no record of my talking to them or to the billing department. The service rep again promised me to expedite again! What's going on inside AT&T or SBC? Help! Speacking to a supervisor doesn't help eather.I am very frustated an feel taken advantage of, Can someone tell me how to resolve this situation? The same think happened to me I ordered the same deal with sbc in August 2007 and as of December 2007 we still have not got our rebate!!!!!!!! Alot of calls to the att, yahoo, sbc rebate center also, it is being PROCESSED-----Still waiting..........
