Certegy Check Authorization
|
Certegy Check Authorization I'm not blaming Amazon.com for this problem, but on 9-21-2006 I made a purchase on Amazon.com using my new checking account, and on 9-24-2006 was informed by Amazon that my check was refused. I learned that an organization called "Certegy," a check authorization service used by various companies, was behind my check order being canceled. This was the "explanation" I received in Amazon's e-mail: "The reason your payment was not authorized was due to dishonored check or transfer information contained in the Certegy files." How can I have a dishonored check if I've never written one? My account is days old! And what on Earth does "transfer information" in Certegy files mean? Who do these people think they are, the FBI? More like the KGB if you ask me! They use Big Brother tactics to determine if someones check is valid or not, such as collecting information on what you buy and when! The reason I'm so mad is that I had more than enough money in my account for the order! These Certegy people have no damn right in hell to determine what I can buy online or when! Now I'm afraid that my checking account and checks are worthless! How can I write a check if it'll be refused? And for no reason other than it didn't pass whatever Soviet-style "tests" Certegy puts it through? I'm madder than a bat out of hell right now - this kind of "corporate terrorism" is unacceptable in America! ________________________________________ PeoplePC Online A better way to Internet http://www.peoplepc.com From: Message Author (click here to email author)Date: Monday, 25-Sep-06 00:41:18 CDT Business: Reply Online Consumer: Comment On This |
