Gap outlet in Carlsbad, CA

This is regarding the Gap outlet in Carlsbad, CA. I was just there today and wanted to buy at small little kids shirt that was $1.99. Great deal right? Well when I got to the register, I saw a small stain. I told the cashier, Ariel, that I wanted to just exchange it for another shirt (knowing that there are other NON STAINED shirts in the back). Her reply was, "Well if I give it to you at a lesser price, you can't return it." I looked at her and said, "I just want another shirt." I wasn't even trying to get a discount for a $1.99 shirt! So her next reply was, "Do you want to go get it?" with an attitude. I looked at her in disgust knowing that they have microphones to let another sales associate, who just a few minutes ago had checked the price on the same shirt, can just bring one up from the back. So I grabbed my card, put it back in my wallet and said, "Well I guess I'll go get it myself then." As I walked away, her and two other associates were laughing behind my back. I complained about this of course, to her manager, Danielle. But God knows, she'll probably just get a slap in the hand for that attitude. Let's just hope it wasn't a racial 'thing,' since there were lots of asian tourists around shopping!
