FIRESTONE/BOLINGBROOK

FIRESTONE/BOLINGBROOK

Dear Sir,

It is about 2 bad experiences at your Bolingbrook Firestone.

The first time I went to your store because I noticed an oil leak. We took an offer from firestone for oil change and total inspection with tire rotation at a promotional price.

The young guy there did not notice any oil leak and did not notice the fused front driver’s side parking light. Also they did not notice nail on the tire and punctured air tube. They told me that for diagnosis of oil leak we have to pay 50 dollars, though it was evident in our garage (oil stains).

Second time we went there for your offer "jump at the pump" and also to remove the nail on tire and replace fused bulb. They removed the nail, repaired the puncture and changed the fused bulb for approx. 45 dollars (too expensive) and by changing the bulb they destroyed the paint on the front of the vehicle. They did not tell us whether there was any problem with air filter, whether the tire thread was ok or whether it was inflated properly? And also the front grill was no tighter or it was loose. Also I found a rusted nut lying loose under the hood.

Now I have to go to the auto body shop and get it touched up. And another auto repair store for repair or maintenance.

The SUV was taken for repair on 13th September. Once the repair was done the vehicle was brought home and stayed in the garage until Saturday (16th September) evening when we noticed the damage by taking it to church. The following Sunday FIRESTONE was closed (September 17th). September 18th, Monday, we called Bolingbrook FIRESTONE, but the store manager was not there. Since we were not able to get a hold of Carlos (Store manager), we decided to file a complaint with the consumer affairs by E-Mail and FAX. On September 19th we took the vehicle to Firestone but could not meet Carlos, because he was off that day. September 20th we took the car again and we explained our concerns to Carlos, on that day itself he told us he would deny the claim. He did not even bother to consult with the mechanic who worked on the car.

The BOLINGBROOK FIRESTONE manager Mr. Carlos CERDA denies it intentionally, even though he understands that the scratches are done during changing the parking light bulb.

Mr. Dave DUSAK from your corporate office intentionally denies the fault, and accuses us for the damage.

I find it to be mind-boggling, how Mr. Dave DUSAK can accuse us of causing damage to our own SUV ultimately to go through all these headaches. I guess this is his way of solving the problem.

Seeing the location of the scratch, it could only be done by some hard instruments the technician could have used to change the light bulb. And the front grill is not tight because the guy did not know how to open the hood or to change the light bulb he forced the grill since the grill border sits next to the chrome rail around the light protection.

This vehicle is garage kept vehicle, which is not even used daily. There is no other explanation other than the incompetence of the mechanic who worked on the car under the supervision of the store manager Carlos CERDA.

One of the reason I took the vehicle to FIRESTONE was because American Auto Association recommended it.

>From my personal experience I found them to be incompetent, unfriendly and the work they do is incomplete.

Just wondered if you were able to get anything settled with Firestone or if they weaseled there way out of any blame i am currently in a dispute with them. Currently working with Mr. Dave Dusak.
