Patelco Credit Union / banking

Patelco Credit Union / banking Patelco Credit Union I would just like to say, in general, I am pleased with using Patelco. I’ve recommended many of my friends to use Patelco in the past. I am however disappointed with how Patelco’s automated system works. I have a Paypal account and have two cards on there. Patelco debit card as the main and a credit card as a backup. I made two purchases on ebay and used paypal. At the time, I had insufficient funds in my account, and paypal first checked with Patelco, it didn’t go through, so it then charged it to my backup credit card. Patelco’s automated system then charged me two $19 charges. I can understand if Patelco actually paid it and charged me $19, but it did absolutely nothing and still took my money. When I called to have the money put back in my account, I was told it was “how the system works and policy”. This just doesn’t make sense to me……Patelco did absolutely nothing except send a message back to Paypal saying I had insufficient funds for the purchases (which I already knew about) and then proceeded to charge me $19 twice for sending an automated message back to Paypal telling them that I don’t have funds so Paypal in turn could then charge it to my backup credit card.
