In ground Swimming pool by blue haven pools, Colmar, PA Blue Haven Pools Colmar, PA In April 2006, we contracted with Blue Haven’s John Calvetti, Jr. to build an inground swimming pool. Within two weeks they broke ground. John promised us the pool would be completed within 120 days. They even provided us with a written guarantee to that effect. Obviously there were several scenarios, like weather, that would let them off the hook. Within two weeks they showed up and marked the pool area on the ground. Demanded a check for 40%, before they would proceed with the big dig. They started digging and within 2 hours hit tree stumps that the builder of the home must have put there. Within 20 minutes of hitting the stumps, the crew pulled out and left. Told us another crew would be in to finish the digging. It took 5 weeks, before someone ever showed up to dig the pool. That is after I could numerous times and they committed to 5 different dates. The dig is finished, the steal crews show up and two weeks later the gunite is shot. We now had to pay them the next installment which was 55%. The now had 95% of our money. During the 5 weeks of calling and trying to get a commitment, John Covetta go so upset with me calling he never called back and basically left me hanging high and dry. Some salesman he turned out to be. I was left with dealing with Crissy (the project scheduler). After the gunite, the pool sat for at least 4 weeks, due to delays with the plumber, the tile guys, a problem with the gunite that the crew had to come back again and fix. It took about 25-30 calls to Chrissy to finally get the pool ready for plaster and finally water. It is now July 16, and the pool is ready for water. The plaster crew was to show up in 7 days. That same afternoon, they called me (a first for everything) and said they could plaster on Saturday July 16 if we wanted. We agreed and Saturday morning they showed up. The wouldn’t start until I gave them a certified check or cash for the remaining 5% of the pool cost. Luckily, I had cash because the banks were closed and they wouldn’t take a personal check. They wouldn’t start without the cash. Here is where the problems really got heated up. The pool was filled with water. We were swimming. The only problem we had with the pool is they didn’t finish the tile work on the outside of the spa. They didn’t have enough tile. We were able to use the pool however there is about 20 square feet of tile that needed installed. I began calling Chrissy, once a week up until last week. They would be another 6-8 weeks and she would say Friday, or Wednesday or never call back. To this date the pool is not done. I only need 51 tiles to be installed. I told her last week, if I didn’t get the tile done in the next two weeks, I would have to pursue other means. We need to close the pool now and no tile. I will be filing a lawsuit with them to get this completed. I cannot find the same tile, so I can’t go else where. Anybody that uses this pool company, or John Calvetti, or relies on the lies of the construction crew are foolish. I discovered that there is not one item on the entire job that is done by an employee other than the one that shows up and demands a check to dig your pool. He was suppose to be our job foreman, never saw him again. This frachise is a big rip off, I tell my friends, spend a little more and high a small local builder.
