Dear Air Deccan Team,
I'll be absolutely honest about what I feel. I had heard lots and lots of people say plenty of nasty things about air deccan. plentyyyy!! and not once did I take that seriously, for the simple reason that I never faced an issue myself. But well seems like I am going to now join that boat as well.
I had an absolutely harrowing experience with Air Deccan. I was booked on the 5:50 a.m. flight from Bangalore to Delhi for the 15th of September, I.e. today. Your website clearly states that the passenger has to be at the counter atleast 30 minutes before departure. I was at the Airport at 5:15 a.m., where I was denied to go in saying that the flight had closed. Mind you there were still 35 minutes. In the time that the guard at the gate went to the counter and came back, some more time had elapsed. And very very cheekily it was written on my ticket that I had come in at 5:22 a.m., 2 minutes too late!!! I understand your limitations, but this is absolutely appalling!! I had a job interview at 10a.m. in the morning in Delhi, a reason not important enough for you. Forget the reason, my point is that I was very much at the airport at 5:15a.m., 35 minutes before the flight was scheduled to take off.
I tried everything, from pleading to trying to explain, but nothing worked with your team at the airport. I am honestly very very disappointed. The treatment meted out to me was atrocious to say the least. The only reason I was taking a flight at that unearthly hour in the morning, was because I had a very important interview, as I have already told you. The least that I had expected was for my preferred airlines to cooperate and not unnecessarily create a ruckus.
Also, the refund that has been made is for Rs.875, on a flight ticket of Rs.3000. Let me tell you this straight. I have really undergone a terrible time, and lost on an important job opportunity, which ofcourse as you would agree, I would not take lightly. For absolutely no fault of mine, I have been made to undergo this entire nonsense. Needless, to say Air Deccan's prestige has nosedived in my eyes. It would not be incorrect if I say that I have lost on an opportunity, because the airlines that had never let me down, behaved so freaking unprofessionally.
I am very very disappointed.
The least I can ask for is a refund of my ticket. Hope you understand. The details are as follows:
