U.S. Government and the President

U.S. Government and the President BLM [Bureau of Labor Management], CPI [Cost Price Index], COLA [Cost of Living Adjustment].
You can read articles daily on the price of say gasoline and milk. You look at your paycheck and try to figure how to spread your income to keep your family healthy and happy. How did you/me get into this position. Let me try to explain this to you. By the way, I am not an economist, historian, or some part of law enforcement. Not FBI, CIA or KKK.
At 77 years, I may make an error in time by a year or two. Forget the months. In 1978 or there about's, gas prices began to rise, some gas stations ran out of gas. It was a bad time for motorist to fuel up just to get to work and back. This continued until today.
Cost of Living Adjustment in either 1979, or 1980 was at 14 percent and going to 17 percent. WELL, what happened? In 1980 or 1981, your Republican, golden throat, persuasive. class B actor, Ronald Regan sent, I guess you would call it an order to BLM; cut gasoline and heating oil from the Cost Price Index The president, by doing this put a ball and chain around our necks. We bean to get poorer, and of course the rich got richer. How often have you read "compared to prices and wages 25 years ago, we are behind the curve by 25 percent.
Prices kept up, but not wages. COLA should be around 45 to 50 percent. We would be in a terrible mess if this was happening. If it were, I think that heating oil and gasoline prices would not be as high as they are today. Because of this and what the "actor" did, the Government did nothing to increase oil production. Oh, and by the way, the day before or the same day he left office Old Man Bush gave us another gift. In a nice written order, that became law instantly, the last thing that this president did was to have one percent dedicated from the yearly COLA. That is a deduction from your increase in wages and Social Security Payments.
SOO, what are you going to about it. From: Message Author (click here to email author)Date: Friday, 15-Sep-06 13:10:38 CDT Business: Reply Online Consumer: Comment On This |
