Cancellation riop-off / cancel my system Sent: Thursday, September 14, 2006 10:16 AM To: Email User' Cc: Email User' Subject: Cancellation riop-off / cancel my system Importance: High Dear sir or Madam, It has been a really bad experience dealing with protect America, since I moved to my new residence I was not able to install the alarm system within 7 days due to the move and now I'm stuck for 3 years without a reasonable option to get out and cancel the agreement, even thou the equipment remains in the box sealed and new, protect America has refused to cancel my agreement and continue to charge me 29.95, In addition the customer service continues to contact me and harass me at my cell phone after I have repeatedly indicated that I don't want protect America to call me at my cell phone or my office number. I'm not interested in having the system installed, 1) I do not have the financial means to pay for it 2) I don't have a land line, 3) I have to spend money and register the alarm system with local fire department and police and be exposed to heavy fines in the state of Maryland in case of false alarms, 4) The real cost of having the alarm system is far greater that 29.95 a month and that is not clearly specified in the agreement, the agreement lacks of a reasonable method to cancel the policy at any time, it is written to rip-off customers with marketing seduction so that you sign quickly and have not time to react it is the most sick marketing strategy Protect America can use. As of today I have decided to give the word to other people about this, even if you look at the FAQs in the web site they do not tell you before about a cancellation policy, they hide this from customers because the agreement is too long. They don't want to receive the equipment I don't know why? I just don't want to know anything about Protect America ever again they are a big rip-off. I will contact all mailing list and groups out there and spread the word about this I will also report this to GE security. I have called Customer service and Mr. Robert has put me on-hold and left me talking to myself after that I spoke to Ms. Mandy L. and she just repeated the same story again and again.
