apple computers

Hello

I have been trying to find some sort of apple customer

service people but there seems to be none or it is

very well hidden somewhere. My problem is that i

recently bought an apple laptop with a student

discount when i bought it an ipod was almost forced

upon by me the telesalesman tellling me i had to have

because theres 100 pounds off via a rebate, the same

offer was also on for a printer, all you have to do is

fill in a form and send it off.

So i received the goods no form not even a receipt

with the goods. So I waited thinking the form would be

sent to me, no form. I rang apple sales and asked them

about this they said i had to download the form from

there website very hard to find and was only for an

ipod i also bought a printer for the full price with

the promise of a rebate. I rang again asking why the

printer was not mentioned on the form they said thats

a seperate form you have to download which was even

harder to find on there site.

Now upon reading the form it says i had to cut up all

the original boxes and send the barcode and the

reciept for each item in the mail it also mentions

that if the barcode is simply peeled off and not cut

out it would not be accepted? Luckily I have kept all

the boxes but if i hadn't i would not be eligible for

the rabate, news to me no one told me this when i was

being sold all thsi stuff. It seems to me apple are

making the rebate a very long winded process so most

people won't bother doing all this, it also mentions

that it must be done within 30 days of the date of

purchase i only found out I had to download the forms

20 days after so this is obviously wrong.

I would like to ask apple 1) Why do I have to prove i

have bought these products when I have paid apple

directly for them 2) Why is all the responsibilty of

the rebate placed on the customer its hardly worth the

time on the phone and all the hastle of cutting up

boxes for the small amount of money you recieve. My

advice is this next time an apple salesperson tells

you you'd be stupid not top buy an ipod because its so

cheap.
