Long Distance Carrier - PowerNet Global Communications Long Distance Carrier - PowerNet Global Communications ( http://ecare.pngcom.com/site/)
The darkest day of my life was when I selected PowerNet Global Communications (PNG) as my long distance carrier for tqo telephone lines I have at homes I have in New York and Florida. The MAIN reason I picked them was because I could eliminate monthly bills and have the charges billed to my credit card each month. >From the very beginning there were problems, because I couldn't make heads or tails of their billing, but since the amounts weren't large, I ignored it. Recently, I received a 10 day Disconnect Notice in the mail in NY. I contacted PNG by email and asked HOW I could owe any money if they bill my credit card? I was told that if the balance wasn't large enough, they would only charge my credit card quarterly and that I should DISREGARD the notice. Two days ago I received ANOTHER 10 Day Disconnect Notice, still show the same balance of $1.93 (that's right $1.93). However, when I went to make a call today I found that my long distance service (which is ANY area code outside my own) does not work, all I get is a busy signal on any long distance number. While I'm certain that they will correct it, AFTER I contact them AGAIN and tell them that they are idiots, but to be honest, if there IS any savings by using PNG, it is outweighed by the endless problems I've had dealing with them. My mom had a toll free telephone number that was hosted/serviced by PowerNet Global. When she passed away, I had to change her account into my name. (One of a couple of dozen or so accounts and services that needed to be changed.) PNG was by far the most difficult and incompetent company I had to deal with. They were unresponsive and gave me different instructions several times as to what kind of information they need, and in which form. Now it's five months later and I'm passing on the account and phone number to someone else who takes over my mom's business. It's the same spiel this time. First, PNG wanted to have a three-way call between myself, the new owner and their customer service department. We did that. They gave us instructions on what to fax them. We did that too. Now, a day later, they want more info and on a letterhead of a company that doesn't even exist yet. Given that they had three different requests by three different service rep people, I asked them to send me an email with the exact instructions. But, no, they can't do that. It's either against their policy or (don't laugh) against SEC rules to do that, I forgot which excuse they used. All in all I would recommend to stay away from this company.
