Yet another UPS complaint

Yet another UPS complaint

I do a lot of shopping on the internet, so I get packages from different carriers all the time. From my experience, UPS is the worst. I have experienced phantom delivery attempts, late delivery and bad customer service.

Last time I ordered some stuff from Anthropologie.com, it was shipped immediately and planned to be delivered in two days. So on the day of delivery, I stayed home to get it. I waited until 5 pm, thinking it was a bit odd since the driver usually comes around noon. Then I checked the tracking page and it said the delivery was attempted but recipient wasn't present. No one rang the bell. So I went downstairs to the front door, and guess what? There wasn't even an InfoNotice. I was just furious that I wasted the whole day because of a lazy driver, so I called the customer service. This girl I talked to didn't want to say anything than "it will be delivered tomorrow". No apology, but she said the local center would give me a call in one hour. So I got a phone call exactly one hour later that the delivery was rescheduled for next day. No other information no apology still. She didn't even ask me about the fake delivery attempt.

On the second day, I again stayed at home. Until 4 pm, no one came. I checked the tracking page, and it showed the recipient wasn't present so the next delivery would be attempted. I ran downstairs and there was the InfoNotice. I thought my bell was broken or something, so I called my friend to come and ring the bell. No, it was NOT the bell. The bell worked perfectly fine. I coudln't afford staying at home for another day, so I had to go pick it up from the UPS center.

After that, I just dreaded getting anything by UPS. However, the next time something was delivered by UPS, it was on time and everything was good. So I figured the local center did something about the driver.

And now, I've been waiting for another package for three days. It was my fault at the beginning. I didn't check the zipcode stored in the system, and the package had a wrong address on it. The first delivery was failed because of that, which I totally understand. The tracking page said the zip code was corrected and it would be sent again next day. Since it looked like the address had been changed, I didn't even bother to call them about the wrong address. I should've. Well, even if I had called, nothing would've changed because they never ever listen. The second delivery was failed because the zip code was wrong AGAIN, which means they didn't chage the zip code. I was furious and called but, the operator wasn't helpful at all. She didn't respond timely and her response was nothing more than "it will be delivered next business day". I asked her why the zip code hadn't been changed while it said so on the tracking page, she said "I don't know". I think they train their operators/representatives not to say sorry or show any sympathy. They should replace them with answering machines or something. Some of them I have talked to were extremely nice. But they were rather rare in number.

I just called to see if it was being delivered today since the tracking page doesn't show any more "in-transit" information after a first attemp. The operator assured me it would be delivered to the correct address TODAY. Let's see if it does. It's already 1 pm now, and I have a bad feeling that it's going to be another day I wasted becasue of UPS.
