I am curently a cell-one customer on their digital service. In the 3 to 4 years I have had this service I have had approx. 3 complaints regarding their billing (in all 3 occurances cell-one has charged me for incoming calls) which in my plan I recieve free. Cell-One has always (after me bringing it to their attn.) has corrected the problem.

On 8-16-06 I started having trouble with my 2 cell phones. I could not retrieve voice messages nor could I make or receive any calls on either phone. It sounded like video game sound effects loudly in the background, if my call didnt get dropped (which all of a sudden was happening.) I let this go for 2 days thinking it would fix itself until I made a call to cell-one telling them of my problem. They said it would be fixed within 48 hours. This lasted for 3 days on both phones then it started all over again with both phones, same identical problems. I again called Cellular One on approximately 8-25-06 and complained this time to result Cellular One telling me it was an equipment problem. I told them I did not believe it, because if this was true, why did both phones have the exact same problems at the exact same time. I told them if they couldnt get the problem fixed, I would be left no choice as to go to Alltel for new phone service, being I know it works in this area. I also told Cell One I cant run my business like this - I have ads in the paper in which I am receiving calls for and cant answer them. They then transfered me to their customer retention center in Oklahoma City and I spoke with a lady named Arvita, who told me they didnt even have digital service available until I told her I was on it. She then tried to talk me into their GSM service in which they could not match my current plan, dollar wise or minute wise. Also I told them I have had 3 friends try GSM in which all 3 returned their phones within the 14 days saying they had no signal. Arvita then said she would call the last service technician who told us there was an equipment problem and ask which brand of phone would work in my area better on the digital system. The answer was Nokia but they didnt have any, the only thing they had was Motorolla. I told Arvita she had 24 hours to get me a phone that works on the digital system or release me of my early termination fee which she said would be $360.00 for each of the 2 phones equaling $720.00.

Arvita said the best she could do was $5.00/month off in which I have 18 months left of my contract. I said this was unacceptable to me because they could not fix the problem and I am loosing customers meanwhile.

Then on 8-30-06, I spent over 2 hours on the phone with them trying to get this worked out. They told me that being that there had been only 3 complaints up to 8-18-06 or until I could no longer use my phones, they could not release me on my early termination. I told them that has nothing to do with me nolonger being able to use my phone. I also went to the local Cell One store in Wisconcin where I live, and the retail sales associate named Amanda Eid told me they have turned up the GSM towers in the area, which is drowning out and causing all the problems on my digital service and that my phones have nothing to do with problems I am having. Amanda also informed me it was not going to get any better for me on the digital service, because they are pushing the GSM service which is more expensive. The 2 year renewal contract I signed with Cell One in March of 2006 states the minutes in the plan as well as the dollar amount for the plan. I want to know how Cell One thinks they can force me into the new GSM service and make me pay more for less minutes without giving me the option of early termination without me paying the early termination fee. In my 2 hour ending phone call on 8-30-06 I was transferred from the customer retention department to the senior account representative who told me I was going to pay the early termination fee regardless and at that I hung the phone up on him. Again in the contract I signed for the digital service in March of 2006, how can they just decide in the middle of the contract to force me to GSM for more money and less minutes. That what I thought contracts were for. Also I think it only fair that my account be credited (that is set up as an auto deduct on my credit card) with Cell One for service after 8-16-06 in which I cannot use my 2 phones anymore to current until this problem is resolved.

Thank you very much and please advise

Roger

Home phone 715-234-9sss (being I cant use either of my 2 cell phones)

P.S. I almost forgot, right in the middle of this on 8-25-06, Cell One sent me a free GSM phone which I feel is a slap in the face. I cant believe they are actually doing business this way.
