Dear Sir,


More than an year ago I purchased the most expensive model of SONY HiFi DVD, Model MHC-RV999D for Rs. 30,000/-. However, ever since its purchase I have been feeling as if I have made the biggest mistake of my life because besides the Sub-Standard quality of the above system, SONY’s response has been even worse. They do not bother for any consumer complaint even within Warranty Period what to talk of getting any support afterwards.


The biggest problem with the system is that most of the songs in MP3 CDs do not play in the system and show an error message ‘Play Limit’, although it plays in other local music systems. But, in spite of my best efforts no action was taken and warranty period elapsed.


Now just after completion of the Warranty Period, another peculiar problem has erupted. During playing a CD, the tray that holds three DVDs comes out of its own and CD keeps playing. During one such occasion, the playing CD got released and shattered into pieces. Needless to mention that when this phenomenon was brought to the notice of SONY, a casual reply said that it is due to mishandling of the system and since it is ‘Out of Warranty’ now, every penny will need to be paid even for examination.


Though I can go on speaking for days in praise of SONY, without entering into any further controversy I either want my Rs. 30000/- back or get my MHC-RV999D replaced with DHC-AZ5D, in which all these problems have been corrected.


Let me also inform that I am not the solitary customer who is facing problems with MHC-RV series because I have been receiving mails from unknown people who underwent my complaint on internet and offered to join me in protesting against SONY India. But instead of making a forum, I think your intervention in the matter would be more than sufficient to get my problem solved.


It will not be out of place to mention that SONY has been dumping sub-standard products in Indian market which lasts only up to the warranty period. Besides it is not providing satisfactory service in general which can be verified from any random customer. You can verify my claim from your own site www.complaints.com where you will find innumerable such complaints.


Since your site has been helping many people by taking up consumers’ cause, I am sure you can set these fellows right once and for all as they have been taking Indians for a ride for quite sometime.
