Onkyo Receiver

I have an Onkyo Receiver and for the second time, the receiver just stop producing sound. I brought Onkyo because I thought they made really products, but for the second time in five years the receiver produces no sound. Onkyo says the product was guaranteed for 1 year and anything after that I an responsible for. On the first incident I found something on their website acknowledging a problem with the chipset, but I can't find any such information now and Onkyo representative will acknowledge any such problem now or previously.
