High Tech Pet - Electronic Dog Door This company should be put out of business by the California Department of Consumer Affairs. I bought the electronic dog door from them almost 2 years ago when I was renovating a house I purchased. The contractor didn’t install it until August 2005. By September it was broken. I was told to ship it back to them and they would have it fixed/replaced within 1 week. I spent ~$60 in shipping because I needed it back (nothing like a hole in the wall to the outside of the house). After not getting it back within the 2 week total timeframe I was promised, I called. They told me that a new model was shortly coming out and they would send it to me. They never did. I know the new model has shipped to their latest victims, but I have never received a replacement. All I have is a hole in the wall. The product worked for 1 week. Never buy directly from them. If you must try their product, as least buy it from a reputable retailer (PetSmart carries their product for some reason) so that you can return it when it inevitably breaks. Good luck with customer service. The only calls they pick up are for orders. Otherwise you will get a recording. If you don’t believe this, try calling them with a complaint (before you buy the product). You will get nowhere. It’s too bad because the concept is really good, it’s just the manfacturing/engineering is a disaster.

It took 2+ months to get what I ordered. And this was after repeated requests for an RMA# so that I could use this money for an alternate solution. I am not expecting to get my refund in any timely manner. Wish me luck.
