Enterprise Car Rentals

Last week I had arranged a car rental from Enterprise Car Rental on Lake City Way in Seattle in my neighborhood using an Entertainment 2006 upgrade coupon. When I got to the agency after having had talked to them the previous day about the upgrade all they had was a Kia, an intermediate class. Not wanting to leave part of my luggage behind because the car was so small I asked what happened to my request for the upgrade I was expecting and we had discussed. There was no mention of it on the reservation so according to them it was never discussed? The left hand doesn't even know there is a right hand much less passing the word. I was offered the opportunity to go to the SeaTac Airport, 20 miles south in one of the worst traffic days so far for the year and they could find something there. Why couldn't they drive something to the agency where I was at to save gas and time? Wanting to get out of town by 10:30 I would be at least 2 hours late. I told them to cancel the rental and walked out. I'll never go back to what was once a class company to use their services again. Another time before this incident I specifically told them I did not want their insurance (a real ripoff) at the time I was renting a car and assumed that they understood that. They tried to assess an extra $40 when I turned the car in saying that I had signed for it. When I signed the rental agreement I thought I was signing that I did not want the insurance and was assured that I would not have to pay for it. Who has the time to read 6 point light blue type or similar on pale yellow paper and try to understand the legalese? You trust to the agent, right? WRONG! My protest was loud enough in the reception area that they canceled the extra fee. This "bait & switch" scamming is becoming policy for this company according to other posts. Take your business anywhere but this company.

I recently had a bad experience with Enterprise as well. I was told several different stories about things being covered and then discovered my bank account had been debited with unauthorized charges. Much misinformation and then I was basically accused of lying when I repeated what several different agents had told me. I am unemployed this time of year on a very limited income. Someone totaled my vehicle and all of the expenses were supposed to have been covered through the insurance of the offending person, whose insurance company uses Enterprise for their rentals. I will never use them or recommend them. Certain employees should be fired and everyone should be brought up to speed about company policy. Very unhappy!!!! I will not let this go until I have been reimbursed. Anybody for a Class Action Suit?
