I purchased a Maytag Neptune washer Model (#MAH55FLBWW) and dryer Model (#MOIE5500AYW) 02-09-05 from Home Depot, Shreveport, La. I called (866-212-9733) Maytag Dependability Plus (warranty Dept.) on 10-20-05 and again today (10-23-06) to report a bad odor from items washed in my machine. I was told my warranty coverage would not be covered, because it was caused from a defect in the Neptune Washer and was told to call 1877 3421446 for Maytag Consumer Service. After being transferred to 3 different service reps and waiting on the phone 1 1/2 hours, I was told there would be no coverage for labor to replace a bad gasket because my machine was over a year old. I paid the extended warranty through the Maytag Company. After talking with the appliance salesman at Home Depot, he told me there was bad problem with the Maytag Neptune line and it had been discontinued because it was a defective product and there was bacteria in the gasket. I had a local repairman from Twin City Appliance (318 688-0253) make a service call on 11-02-05 for my Maytag Dryer. There was a problem with the lint filter clogging up and there was an odor problem. He told me there had been a problem with the washer having bacteria and odor and to place Sunlight Dishwashing Detergent in the washing machine to eliminate odor problems with the washing machine. The Maytag service booklet suggested running bleach through the machine which has not helped the situation. I use 3 rinse cycles every time I wash a load of laundry. I dry the inside of the door when I remove the clothes from the washer. I have done everything possible that was suggested to me, but continue to have problems with odor in our clothes. I want this machine repaired without additional cost to me or have the washing machine replaced for a top loading model. My husband and I have always thought Maytag was the top of the line for washers and dryers. We recently retired and thought this machine would last us for many years. The Maytag service people were not helpful. The service rep told me to call the local Twin City Appliance Repair Company. After talking with them on 3 occasions, they tell me that they must have a call from the Maytag Service Company to get the part number, and I would not have to pay for the part, only the labor cost. I still do not have a service call date for repairs. There seems to be a run around by everyone as soon as the odor problem is mentioned. Maytag should do something to resolve all these claims against the Neptune line of products.

To my dismay, my top load Neptune washer(FAV6800AWW)stopped working. The first signal was that the door was opened, which was not ther case. Then the washer would not function at all. The replacement computer parts will cost me almost $500. I feel betrayed because I detrimentally relied on the maytag reputation before making my purchase.My last Maytag washer lasted thirty years.What has happened to the Maytag integrity?

i have the same problem with mine and i got it from arrons.i have only had it for 2 weeks now and all my cloths smell horrable.i use tide (he),downy fabric softner and also downy fabric in the drywer and still nothing but a mildew musty smell.i paid 1100 for these thinking these were top of the line.

I used Maytag Neptune Dryer, but it was damaged and I want to repair. But I can't find the repairing shop of Maytag in Thailand. Do you have a branch or retailer in Thailand? if yes, please send the address and telephone no. by e-mail please. but if not, please advise, how should I do?
