Worldwide Moving Systems

I am not familiar with how this site processes complaints, but I would like to echo the statements made by the previous complaint against Worldwide Moving Systems in Planatation, FL. Following a disasterous move wherein upwards of $20,000 worth of furniture was destoryed beyond repair, we took the only recourse we legally had, which was to follow the arduous process of filing for a damage claim.

I want to warn potential customers of a little Worldwide Moving systems trick that we learned of (we learned many, but this one made our blood boil the most): During the packing process, demand that the itemized list be ledgible, and learn what the codes at the top mean. What we learned AFTER the move, when things really got ugly, was that during packing, the movers were marking almost every peice of furniture as "scratched". Since they use illedgible handwriting and code language, we did not catch what they were doing. Thus, our BRAND NEW furniture that had no way of being scratched (or holes knocked in it, or legs missing) was marked as damaged prior to the move, and we were tricked into signing off on it. Way to go Worldwide! Very creative trick that made it impossible for us to blame you for damage you caused!

We learned of many other tricks that they can get you with if you are not careful, and I will be happy to share them all, but the one above just gives us the biggest laugh of all.

Since our damaged furniture only weighed a couple thousand pounds, we recieved a grand total of $200 in damages. Following 8 months of weekly phone calls to Yurom at Worldwide, we finally were able to aggravate him into sending us our money, just to shut us up. (You should also be warned that I am suspicuous of a compulsive lying problem with Yurom...he was caught many, many times by my wife and I but it was funny to listen to him try to back out of it and change his story).

I will be glad to elaborate on our experience to anyone who wants further details, including photos of damage to furniture (which was purchased just 3 weeks before move).
