MDG is making money by scamming people with poor knowledge on computer.

My name is XXXX and I have a rather unpleasant experience with MDG.

I want to let people know about the things I experienced with MDG. Do not buy it from them unless you got lots of time and have a very good knowledge about computers. Here's the email I wrote them and still awaiting reply.

Back in end of Sept 30, 2006, I bought a computer from a MDG store located at DDO St-jean Montreal. I ordered an Aptons series COST 1 351.45 CAN$$ with tax.

Before I continue, the Aptons package come with:

Intel ATI X200 S775 DDR2 Motherboard

Intel P4 2.66 GHz 2mb Cache Dual Core

1GB DDR2 533 Mhz

MDG Bl/Silver Premium case 420W/Boitier

WD 250GB SATA HD

ATI X200/300

19" LCD widescreen ACER

Black 16X DVD-RW+RW

Intel HD Audio

10/100/1000 Network

Belkin wireless Mouse and keyboard

Ms Windows MCE 2005 English

Ms Works Suite

P4 Cpu fan

Side fan on system

I asked the salesman the spec of the motherboard, he told that it has 5 PCI and 1 IDE and 2 SATA.

I told him I need 2 IDE. He offer an upgrade of 49$ for a MTB that support 2 IDE but then there will only be 2 PCI and 4 SATA and EVERYTHING ELSE IS THE SAME. I told him that's fine. So now, I have to pay a total of 1 407.28 CAN$.

So I was charged with 49$ so with tax the total is 1 407.28CAN$$ . I brought it home, and got everything setup. A few days after, I realise something. My Computer doesn't have DDR2 but instead I got 1 GB of DDR1 at 400Mhz. I thought this was a mistake done by the technician, but no! The motherboard I got was an Intel P4 D101GGC and it doesnt' support DDR2. But the receipt says that I have DDR2.

Now let's get the FIRST situation straigth:

1- I pay an extra of 49$ + tax CAN$

2- I got what my 2 IDE.

3- But they downgraded my motherboard to a cheape one. Cheaper then the original one "Intel ATI X200 S775 DDR2 Motherboard " .

4- I paid for 1 GB DDR2 instead I got 1 GB DDR1.

5- They did not told me about this and at this point I can, regardless of your policy return the product because this is clearly a sign of rip off.

I went back to the store and told them nicely, and they told me they will give me a better motherboard and the salesman told me that he didn't know that D101GGC didn't support DDR2. Even though I knew he was lying, its not like this is his first day working for a MDG, I politely accepted his offer. The next day I went to get my computer. He gave me a new receipt and I went home thinking that everything is clear. When I got back home I read the receipt one more time and something shock me. The receipt says that my D101GGC motherboard is being exchange with an Intel ATI X200 S775 DDR2.

Now let's get the SECOND situation straight:

1- I pay an extra of 49$ + tax CAN$

2- I got the same motherboard as the original.

I went back to the store one more time!! I told them politely that first they charge me 49$ + tax CAN$ extra, and downgraded my MOTHERBOARD and RAM to a cheaper one, and now they gave back the original motherboard but they still overcharging me with 49$ + tax CAN$. The guy gave me a Credit of 49.00 + tax CAN$. He told me that he didn't knew about this and so on. RIGHT!!!! Again is this his first day/week at work?

Now I went back home and thought that everything is fine now. But again MDG fooled me not once, not twice, but thrice!!!! I discover that on my LCD monitor there's constant flickers going on and my eyes get really irritating. The flickering is very obvious. I went back to the store AGAIN!!! This time, I think the salesman got tired of seeing me or something but nobody came to assist me. I have to walk over to the desk and the salesman just sats on the chair chatting with 2 other salesman and gave me the sign of " What' wrong again".

I told him about the screen flickering and he just yell the technician name to come and tell him to assist me. The technician came and he asked me what is the problem. I told him that my lcd monitor keeps flickering and I have remove my speakers, wirelss phone and all interference from my room. I even move my computer to an empty room and I told him that I can show him right now with my computer and LCD screen. He told me he is busy and asked me to leave my computer there. I told him that I wasted 2 weeks with this computer, every single visit was their/MDG faults and demands a immediate repair now. He then took the computer and bring it to the back and hook it up. He turned on the computer and there was no flickering, I was suprise. Then he explain that he added this adapter in the back because the video card itself isn';t good enough to send a clear signal. The total repair took less then 5 min and he wanted me to leave my computer for a few days.

Now let's get the THIRD situation straight:

1- I bought a computer that came with a screen that doesn't support the video card??? Does this mean every other clients who bought this computer have to live with the flickering for the life of the computer. Does MDG ships computer with monitor that doesn't' match?????

Now I went back home with the computer and got everything back!

1- I got the original motherboard back.

2- I got my 1GB DDR2 back.

3- I got my LCD monitor problem fix.

4- I got my 49 + tax CAN$ back. Well that's what I though.

Now again, I'm a very very nice person. Wasting almost 3 weeks of my time and didn't ask for any compensation I still didn't lose my temper or return the product. Now here's where I stop being nice. I just got my first statement from WELLS FARGO and I haven't being credited YET!!! The salesman made the credit on Oct 05 2006 and the statement was printed on Nov 01 2006. And I still have an outstanding balance of 1 407.28 CAN$

Now let's get the FOURTH situation straight:

1- MDG still owe me 49% + tax CAN$ = 55.81 CAN$.

Now I have to go back and clear this whole mess up? I have wasted enough time with MDG and its employees. Does your salesman know what they are talking about? Does MDG charges someone more and give him less? Does MDG write something on the client receipt and give him something different? Does MDG even goes to the length of writting a Credit to the client and doesn't even process the credit?

Furthermore, the reason I bought from MDG is because I though they were a good brand. Even though I can assemble a computer from scratch, the 3 yrs warranty was a good deal for an extra of 300-400 CAN$. Trust me, I search around the area to find what is the cost of building the exact computer by myself before buying from MDG.

I'm really impatience now and hoping to get my 49% + tax CAN$ back and a will gladly accept a compensation for my time. This is unacceptable, I was fortunate to have all the original copies and even ask the salesman to write down the info i needed so clearly your situation looks really bad and your salesman just don't quite get it when I brought only photocopies of the original. MDG has to know that my time is money too and I will not tolerate any more games between your employees or MDG itself.

Furthermore, I realise they also writting my name wrong. My name is XXXX and not XXXX. I will accept that this is just a common mistake and not a signs of any kinds.

Email me back with a satisfying respond about solving this solution once and for all and maybe I will spare the trouble of writing more lengthy letters. All other informations that you may request will be given when a satisfying respond is given. Let's work toward a solution and no more surprise.

XXXX
