HSBC Platinum Credit Card.

I applied yersterday for foreign currency and travelers cheques for a forthcoming holiday. The village Post Office where I placed my order tele-honed this moning to tell me my aoolication had been

'blocked . I contacted my local HSBC branch after a lengthy but fruitless conversation with a gentleman in Manilla who had no earlthly idea what I was talking about despite being allegedly a member of the HSBC Customer Services team. I was told that the

tranaxction had been blocked because I was abroad.I have not been abroad for over

twelve months. The outcome is that I must reapply. Is it possible that HSBC could be

persuaded that a phone call to say that the block had been removed is no more

difficult send than the one bloking the transaction?
