The morning after I placed this internet order, I called customer service to cancel this order as I had a change of mind. The response that I got from their customer service department has been that since the order is in "printed" status, there was nothing they could do. After that phone call, I complained through their internet customer service department via email and was essentially given the same answer.


I don't know what "printed" status means, but I do know that the internet orders go from "printed" to "shipped" status. Customer service representatives have advised me that I could just decline the shipments, or return the items to a local store. That's all fine and good, except for the fact that the items are not being shipped to my home address and therefore I have no control over their acceptance or denial.


As of now, part of the order is shipped and the remainder is due to ship tomorrow and there is NOTHING that Macy's customer service staff can do to assist a consumer who changes their mind and requests to cancel an order. In fact, there isn't even a mechanism for such a request on their internet site.


What lousy customer service!!!
