Sterns & Foster kingsize mattress set

October 9, 2006, we purchased a Sterns & Foster mattress set from "Mark" with Mattress Gallery. It was evident that after the first night this mattress was not comfortable. After four sleepless nights, we contacted "Mark". He was willing to take the mattress back but it would have to be destroyed. His offer was for us to purchase another set at a reduced price. This was not acceptable to us. We would have to dish out additional money and be faced with the same situation of possibly getting another uncomfortable mattress. He stated that due to health regulations, we could not first try the mattress. We have not been able to determine those stated regulations are the source of such information. We did contact a large furniture store in Baton Rouge who was willing to let us try out a Sterns & Foster provided we use a mattress pad. This we learned after the fact. We also contacted Sterns & Foster direct and was told that their mission statement did not supercede the local store's policy. As consumers we feel cheated and not treated fairly. This was a lot of money and feel that our interests were not considered once the Mattress Factory got its money. This very same mattress may be someone else's dream come true, but for my husband and I, it has been a nightmare. Is there anything we can do? Is anyone out there listening? Does anyone have any suggestions?
