Dell/Customer Service-Tech Support

Dell/Customer Service-Tech Support Dell/Customer Support--Tech Support Today I had a Dell experience. I called Dell tech support for a question about my video card. I just wanted to know if it was upgradeable (to one with T&L support). Three hours ten minutes later, I received an answer. Of course, the answer was to buy a new computer. It turned out to be such a nightmare, I just have to share the story. I hope you can follow along. 1. Called Tech Support, talked to a woman from India who had no idea about my question, but she said NO. She wasn't convincing so I called again... 2. Spoke to an Indian man in Tech who had no idea. I was then... 3. Transferred to a Supervisor, who had such a thick Indian accent I could not understand, so... 4. I was transferred to another Tech who... 5. Told me to hang up so he could call me back. 6. When he called me back, he answered YES to my problem. He said he was certain, although I knew his knowledge of computers was comparable to mine. I didn't trust myself, or the tech so I... 7. Called Dell, spoke with an Tech from India, who had basic English skills, so I politely asked to be transferred to a call station in the United States. Of course, that was not possible. So... 8. I spoke with his supervisor, whose English was worse. I hung up and... 8. Called a random number I found on Google, got some guy from the States who dealt with enterprise customers and was just an operator. Although he was nice, he had never had a technical call. 9. I was transferred to his supervisor...who 10. Transferred me to Tech again. I spoke with a lady who had..get this...a thick Indian accent, so she could not understand my problem, and I could not understand her. 11. I was transferred, disconnected. 12. I called back and spoke with another Tech from India who had no idea, so she asked her supervisor, and then answered NO. 14. He was quite knowledgeable about my particular computer, but I only understood half of what he said. He Told me to buy another more expensive model, and wanted to... 13. Transfer me to Sales, but I politely declined. The moral of the story is...never buy a Dell product. Let me give you a quick rundown of my question. I have a Dell 2400 with an Intel video card, which did not have T&L support. I found this out after I bought the game Civilization IV. Graphics were choppy, and me being ignorant, thought I'd just upgrade. I am more frustrated and tired now than mad. It took three case numbers to find the answer. I am beyond disgusted.
