Capital One Credit Card

Capital One Credit Card

Good afternoon,

I recently tried to have a balance transfer completed through Capital One. I originally called on the 14th of November for a balance transfer that was allegedly completed and sent through with an APR of 3.99%. I then called back to check in regarding the balance transfer on November 21st only to find out that one of the company representatives could not even find the transfer request and the supervisor who I then spoke to assured me the transfer would go through as planned and with the 3.99% APR. I called again on 11/27/06 to determine what had gone wrong as the transfer had not yet occurred and found out that there had been an error made on the 14th of the month (something NOT relayed to me during my original call or on the 21st) and that the transfer would have to be resent. While on the phone with the Capital One staff I was left waiting for over 30 minutes on hold as I got transferred around from one individual to another. I was then transferred to the "investigation team" where I was told I would need to put the balance transfer request through one more time and then quoted me a rate of 12.99% (funny how that jumped up). I asked to speak to a supervisor when the person I was speaking to kept repeating that the rate of 3.99% was not available, only to be met by beligerent "supervisor" who reported the rate had NEVER been available and stated that maybe "I" had influenced their representative on the 14th and 21st to "misrepresent" the rate on the telephone.

The company advertises no hassles and easy customer service with no tricks, I believe they need to rethink the Capital One slogan. Not only is the staff incompetent they lack the skills to be even polite on most occasions, I do not believe that is the definition of customer service in the US.

Sincerely,

A very frustrated customer
