complain to USPS

complain to USPS I understand that sometimes mails get lost, but I would guess chances are small. However, it happened to me three times in the past year. The first time I sent some gift to my family in China using USPS priority mail, and they didn't get all that I sent out. Some skincare was missing. At that time I thought maybe it was the custom that doesn't allow skincare shipped. The second time one of my friends sent me some clothes and shoes from Boston. The package traveled two weeks before it finally arrived, and again I found I didn't get all that my friend sent to me. One single boot and four sweaters were missing. I saved the original box and filled out the form 1510 hoping someone can get back to me. Six months past and I never heard anything about my lost stuff. Now this is the third time. I sent a check and a cell phone home a month ago using USPS priority mail. And Bingo! USPS lost my mail again! I seldom use USPS to send packages, and based on these experiences, the chance that they will lose the mail or package is 100%! When I told one of my friends about all these, he said he always use insurance which is much over the value of whatever he is sending by USPS, because he knows the chance of getting the stuff lost is huge. Certainly I’m going to do this in the future, and hopefully I can even make some money on this. (It seems the chance of earning the money for me is 100%, based on those experiences.) I would also like to share one of my experiences with UPS which is another terrible package carrier. They lost one of our packages about three years ago. We had a lot of important things in it (I mean important to us, not UPS) including our wedding rings. I tracked the package all the way to Minneapolis but it didn’t come to our home. After making thousands of calls they said they’ll try to look for it, but no one came back to us within a year. Then after my wife complained about it, some magazine reporter came to her and asked about details of the experience, and even published the interview. Soon after this a manager or whatever from UPS called us and said he would try to find the package for us, and guess what, we got the package back within a week. But although we got the package back we would still not say “thank you” but “hate you” to UPS. Why couldn’t you really do something in the year before the reporter’s interview? I know one shouldn’t ask too much even if he pays the money to have the package delivered, but come on, can you guys make the chance of finishing your job a bit higher? And can you make your so called costumer service a bit better? And finally, I’m looking forward to getting my first refund from USPS for my future lost packages. You have to have receipts or some kind of proof before the insurance claim will be paid, but I guess you know that by now! And if by any chance you get away with your fraud then that makes you a criminal!
