LG Dishwasher

Purchased the expensive dishwasher (LDS 5811BB) from Home Depot to replace a Whirlpool dishwasher that required 4 service calls. Two months out of the warranty and the dishwasher starts leaking out the front of the door. I call LG and told that they only warranty the product for one year and hear is a service center phone number and we are sorry. Bad product and even worse service.

My LG LDF6810 dishwasher had a leak in the lower left hand area of the door - it ruined my floors because we had the washer run each night and over time, the floors finally buckled. Anyhow, after closer investigation, I surmised that it had to do with the vent (for dryer/ air monitoring) located inside the door. I ordered part 5835ED2002D from RepairClinic for $58.00 and installed the new module myself. The leak is no more. Rather than calling out a repair person, try to have a look yourself (though always unplug the unit before messing about!)

Made the mistake and bought same dishwasher. Wiring harness keeps burning out from poor door design with the insulation. The repair cost is NOT worth it. Bought cheap Amana 298.00 for quick replacement since there was NO ONE in 200 mile radius authorized to do LG repair at the time. Finally got authorized for repair and after 9 months local repair company authorized to make repair. It has been approximately 50 days since repair and the same noises are happening again. FYI, it's a quick and easy DIY to solder the wires yourself, or even tape with elec. tape, but we'll be putting our "cheapie" Amana back in. The Amana cleans better anyway.

DO NOT THROW MONEY AWAY ON LG APPLIANCES, AND BE ESPECIALLY WARNED IF YOU LIVE IN SMALL NON-METRO AREA....CHANCES ARE NO ONE AUTHORIZED TO DO REPAIR. And you WILL need repairs!

This is the WORST dishwasher for the price! Not as quiet as they claim and doesn't clean well.
